I'm so glad we found this place! The food was delicious, and the service was attentive but not overbearing. We are a family of 4, and we ordered the family meal for 3 and could have fed 5! The meat was tender and well seasoned. Maybe a little on the pricey side but would certainly come back.
Those who have not been to Turkey should not think that Turkish kebabs are so tasteless. Real Turkish kebabs are much tastier than the ones here. The meat and spices used did not give the taste of Turkish kebab. Unfortunately, Turkish cuisine has not been represented as beautiful and delicious as it deserves. One of the aims of Turkish Restaurants in America should be to promote Turkish cuisine in the best possible way. If you still want to try it, I think you should keep your expectations low.
As someone who's married into a Turkish family, I've had quite a number of experiences in Turkey trying different dishes there. This place was pretty good (especially compared to Denver where there's not a whole lot of great Turkish food places). Giving 4 stars because the lahmacun was tasteless and would've been better served with parsley, lemon and some pomegranate molasses. Otherwise their pricing was phenomenal and the iskender turned out really good!
I've been here multiple times and the food and service is always great. Clean restaurant, the waiters immediately bring you water and complimentary bread, and the food is great. The food is full of flavor but it's not spicy, so if you only enjoy spicy food then you probably wont like it. It is halal and they have their certificates on the wall as well.
Great gem in Chicago’s financial district. The place was clean, the service was friendly, and the food was delicious. This is the third Turkish restaurant I’ve tried in the Chicago area and I would say it’s the best in terms of taste and value. I highly recommend the Adana Kebab and Iskender Kebab. The meat was so juicy and definitely fresh! The hummus was excellent too and paired very well with the warm bread they give you for free. My dad also tried their baklava and said it was very good. Go try it out!!
*Edit: They are halal too!
I always go here for the EZME (pictured). I don’t even know where else to get it, honestly. It’s delicious. Great bread (also pictured). I have had the lentil soup a bunch of times. It’s always great. Falafel, hummus all that and then some. 😋 There’s also a nice man, I believe to be the owner, who walks around greeting people and being friendly. Three thumbs up. 😁
If you are looking for authetic Turkish food, this place is certainly the place to go! The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly. I even took some lahmuacun with me back to Michigan because it tasted so authentic straight out of Turkey. Would definetly rcommend and am for sure coming back here when I visit Chicago!
Excellent Mediterranean style grilled fish. The bread, kebab, tea were all pleasurable. Run by folks from Turkey, about 4 months open at this point.
9/3/23 Update
Enjoyed it still. Fan of Mediterranean grilled fish. Got the trout. Enjoyed the Turkish coffee, though more of a treat at $5.
